Freeport bowler Julia Cummings won the WPIBL Singles championship Thursday in Mt. Lebanon. She topped Veronica Flanagan of Kiski Area to win the championship.
Butler bowler Kelsee McConnell was a finalist. Kelsee qualified third overall, but fell to Flanagan in the quarterfinal round. She had the third highest game in qualifying with a 246. McConnell was also named to the All-WPIBL Second team as one of the top averages in the regular season.
All three bowlers have advanced to the PA Western Regional in March. Others qualifying for the Regional tournament are Makenzie Livingston of Freeport, along with Natalie Coughenour, Makenzie Zimmerman and Kaylee Kniess of Butler..
