Cranberry Township Police are investigating an overnight kidnapping of a teenager.
Police say they got a call around 1:30 a.m. for a reported kidnapping in Stockton Ridge, which is gated community located just off of Ehrman Road.
A 39-year-old woman told officers that two men entered her home with weapons, bound her and her 17-year-old son, and then ransacked the house.
The intruders left the home in the victim’s car with the teen held at gunpoint.
Police say that car was then abandoned a short distance away from the house, where they believe the two men got into another car that was waiting for them.
Around 5 a.m., Beaver County 911 received a call from the kidnapped teen, alerting them he was at a convenience store in Rochester. He has since been reunited with his mother.
Police believe that this was not a random act and that the two victims were targeted for unknown reasons.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cranberry Township Police at 724-776-5180 extension 5.
