The Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Nashville Predators tonight. Face-off is 8pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 7:30pm.
Tonight’s game is the first of three road games through Saturday. The Pens will begin a five-game home-stand next Tuesday.
The Penguins have 23 games remaining in the regular season, and each game will be of critical importance. They currently hold the final Eastern Conference Wild Card playoff spot by one point over Buffalo. Detroit, Florida and Washington are three points back. The Pens are 10 points behind the third place New York Rangers, so a Wild Card appears to be the necessary route for the Pens to reach the post-season for a 17th consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the NHL.
Ottawa helped the Penguins cause with a win over the Red Wings last night.
