One person was injured earlier this week in a crash involving a horse buggy in neighboring Mercer County.
According to the State Police, the accident occurred Thursday morning around 7 a.m. on Cowden Road in Wilmington Township.
At that time, 18-year-old Garth Bunnell of New Wilmington had his sight of the road impaired by a frosted windshield. He was also allegedly exceeding the posted speed limit. This caused his vehicle to strike the rear of a buggy drawn by a horse.
The operator of the buggy was thrown from the vehicle but only sustained minor injuries. Bunnell was not injured but the horse sustained serious injuries and had to be put down at the scene.
Bunnell has been charged with driving with an obstructed windshield.
