Butler County is revising a policy that will now allow all veterans to receive reimbursements after their headstones at set.
County commissioners say a previous policy permitted families of veterans who served in wartime to receive a $100 reimbursement for their headstone.
However, members of the Hile Funeral Home and veterans services brought up that the policy excluded veterans who served during peacetime.
The new policy now allows families of all veterans to receive the reimbursement.
County officials say you can reach out to Butler County Veteran Services or speak with your funeral home that is handling arrangements.
