The Pennsylvania Game Commission says there was a nearly 12 percent increase in the deer harvest this past hunting season.
The new numbers released showed that Pennsylvania hunters took down over 422,000 white-tailed deer—around 164,000 of those were bucks.
Locally, Butler County is split into two different wildlife units. Those units combined had a harvest estimated around 33,000 deer.
Firearms deer season still accounts for the largest amount in the annual deer harvest.
