Legislation put forward by a local lawmaker to expand school choice and flexibility will not become law.
Republican State Representative Aaron Bernstine’s amendment to an education bill being considered by the state House has been blocked by Democrats.
Bernstine’s proposal would have given families resources and schooling options but House Democrats used parliamentary procedure to avoid debate and vote on the amendment to House Bill 688.
Bernstine plans to continue to advocate for policies that expand school choice options.
