The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday night by a score of 13-3 in the first game of a three-game series at PNC Park.
The Pirates had 17 hits in the game. Andrew McCutchen, Ke’Bryan Hayes, Ji Hwan Bae, and Josh Palacios each had 3-hits in the game. Bryan Reynolds hit his 6th home run, his first since the home opener April 7th.
Johan Oviedo pitched 6 innings in the game, striking out 7 while allowing 2 hits, 3 walks and a run. Relievers Yohan Ramirez and Colin Holderman each had 2 Ks across 2.2 innings of work.
The Pirates improve to 24-20. The second game of this series will be played today at 4;05 PM, with WISR pregame starting at 3:40 PM.
