The trial for the accused Tree of Life synagogue shooter begins today.
After finishing jury selection last week, the trial against Robert Bowers begins this morning.
Bowers is accused of shooting and killing 11 people who were worshipping at a Jewish synagogue in Squirrel Hill back in 2018.
The federal trial is expected to be a lengthy one. It could possibly take up to three months according to legal experts.
If convicted, Bowers could face the death penalty. Since the shooting, Bowers has been held in the Butler County Prison.
