An Ohio man has been charged after he allegedly ran over a woman twice last week in Cranberry Township.
According to a criminal complaint, 54-year-old Edmund Halstead of Slineville got into a verbal argument with another patron about being too intoxicated to drive while leaving Marty’s Suburban Bar on Route 19 shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday (June 7th).
After the two were in the car, Halstead allegedly began to hit the woman. She then asked to leave the car, and once Halstead let her leave, he began to drive off dragging her body. Once the woman was released from the car, Halstead backed over her twice. Halstead would drive to a hospital in East Liverpool, Ohio before dropping the woman off.
Halstead was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanors unlawful restraint and simple assault.
