The Knoch School District is taking the next steps to realize a major construction project at the High School campus.
At a Wednesday night meeting, school board members approved a motion to authorize the advertisement and bidding of the $35 million Renovations and Additions project.
Representatives from the district’s planning consultant also provided school board members with an updated timeline. Interested contractors will be asked to register and attend a prebid meeting on June 27th where district representatives will discuss the phrases of the project as well as answer questions.
Bids are due July 19th at which time the project manager will tabulate the results and present information about alternate bids to the school board at a special meeting to be held sometime at the end of July. The board will then vote to award contracts.
This timeline is expected to allow some mobilization prep work like moving utilities and creating retention ponds in front of the High School to be completed this summer. The target date for completion is August of 2025 with the majority of work expected to take place in the summer of 2024.
