An investigation is ongoing after a local resident fell victim to a scam.
According to State Police, an unidentified 73-year-old Mercer man was scammed out of nearly $58,000 when he believed that he won a Publishers Clearing House prize at the end of May.
It was not immediately known how the scam began, or if any suspect or suspects have been identified.
Authorities did not indicate if any other local residents have recently fallen victim to a similar scam.
