July 4th is right around the corner and travel experts are expecting a big holiday travel period.
AAA is estimating that just over 50 million Americans will be traveling starting this weekend.
A majority are expected to be driving to their destination, with an estimated 43 million making a trip more than 50 miles from their home. That’s up just over two percent from last year.
Meanwhile, air travel could set a record as well with over 4 million Americans flying to their vacation spot—which is up 11 percent from 2022.
AAA says that Friday is expected to be the busiest day on the road for the long holiday weekend.
