Independence Health System is receiving recognition for attention to heart health.
Butler Memorial Hospital was recently accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for reaching a 10-plus year milestone anniversary for Adult Echocardiography. Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart in order to detect heart disease or signs of other serious heart conditions.
This process honors facilities that have been continuously accredited for 10, 20, 25, and 30 years. Butler Memorial Hospital first received accreditation in 2006. Clarion hospital was also recognized for achieving accreditation in 2005.
Assessment for accreditation includes an intensive review process conducted by a panel of medical experts.
