The City of Butler is purchasing one vehicle while looking to sell another.
Butler City Council has approved the purchase of a 2015 Hyundai Sonata for just over $15,000 from Kelly Chevrolet.
This vehicle will be used by the Police Department for drug investigations with nearly half of the cost paid by Butler County and the rest from donations. The vehicle does not need modifications and will be able to be used as soon as it is picked up today.
Council also approved the advertising for sale of a surplus vehicle. The city will sell a 2007 Ford F-550 truck that is no longer needed by the Butler City Streets Department. According to Councilman Fred Reese, this vehicle is in poor condition and not road worthy.
