Crews were dispatched to a fire that significantly damaged a home on 783 Old Route 422 in Franklin Township just before 9:30am this morning.
The fire engulfed the front room of the house destroying the front structure of the home. Assisted by Unionville, Connoquenessing, and Butler Township fire departments the Prospect Department began to fight the fire on the south part of the home and attending to smoke coming from the attic.
Just before 10am crews were able to put the fire out and clear the scene by 11:30am.
The homeowners were not home at the time of the fire but animals were still inside the home no word on the animals.
