Residents in Butler County will soon have an opportunity to apply for a license to carry permit online.
Sheriff Mike Slupe proposed the idea to county commissioners at the public meeting earlier this week.
The county would utilize a third party website, where interested residents would fill out the application and scan their drivers license. Payments are done via credit card.
Slupe says their office will continue to process applications in-person, but this gives a convenient option for residents who may have a difficult time coming to the county government center.
