Independence Health System has announced four new executive physicians and hospital leaders.
Dr. Carol Fox will be the chief medical officer; Dr. Fox has been an executive medical command for Excela Health since 2005.
Dr. David Rottinghaus was named as the President of Physician and Provider Network. He comes to the position after a decade of working in emergency rooms in Allegheny County and Butler County. Dr. Rottinghaus was also previously the President at Butler Medical Providers before his new position.
Karen Allen will take over as President of Butler Memorial and Clarion Hospitals. Allen started her career as a bedside nurse and previously served as Director of Surgical Services and Assistant VP of Patient Care Services.
Brian Fritz will serve as President of Frick, Latrobe, and Westmoreland Hospitals. Since 2020 Fritz has served as System Vice President of Surgical Services to Excela Health.
