A former Colorado man is in prison after staying at a local hotel illegally and attempting to steal from Walmart.
The incident happened at the Comfort Inn on Route 8 South just before 2 p.m. on Sunday (July 30).
39-year-old Michael Petrie is accused of stealing a room card key and staying in the hotel overnight without paying. He’s been charged with criminal trespassing and theft of services.
Through their investigation, Butler Township Police also found that Petrie tried to scam Walmart in a false return scheme. Petrie allegedly failed to pay for a car seat and tried to return the item to customer service.
