The NFL Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Saturday afternoon in Canton, Ohio beginning at Noon.
Among the nine inductees is Darrelle Revis, who will be the third native of Aliquippa to be inducted into Football’s Hall, joining Mike Ditka and Ty Law. He is also the 10th former Pitt Panther to be enshrined. Revis was a 14th overall selection in the 2007 draft by the Jets.
Last night, the NFL pre-season kicked off with the Cleveland Browns defeating the New York Jets 21-16 in Canton. Former Pitt running back Israel Abinkanda made his NFL debut for the Jets, rushing for 27 yards on nine carries. He scored the Jets lone touchdown.
The Pittsburgh Steelers open their pre-season next Friday night in Tampa Bay.
