The Pittsburgh Pirates failed to hold a late lead and lost 8-6 to the Atlanta Braves last night at PNC Park. David Bednar blew his second save in a week, allowing the Braves to score three runs in the ninth inning. The Bucs had three home runs in the game, but were outhit 14-9 by the Braves. Pirates starting pitcher Mitch Keller allowed nine of those hits in his five innings of work. He allowed three earned runs.
The Pirates and Braves play another night game tonight at 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:40pm. The two teams complete their series Thursday afternoon before the Cincinnati Reds come to town.
