After 10 years the Evans City and Seven Fields police department is splitting, leaving Evans City officials looking for answers.
What was once a staff with 18 people is now down to two including Chief of Police Joe McCombs. A press release earlier this summer criticized the lack of staffing in the department.
The borough began Monday to start looking at plans to merge with another department once again.
A potential deal may pair Evans City with Jackson Township police but no firm decision has been made and negotiations are ongoing.
