One of the people killed in the house explosion in Plum was a former borough manager in Butler County.
57-year-old Michael Thomas died in the tragic explosion this past weekend in the Rustic Ridge housing plan.
Thomas was the Plum Borough manager and had held the job since 2005. Previously, Thomas spent three years as the manager of the Saxonburg Borough.
As for the explosion itself, the official cause may take months to learn. But, according to Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s office the house that exploded had been having hot water tank issues. Officials say they will investigate whether or not that had any impact on the explosion.
