The gymnasium at Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in Foxburg has been named in honor of retired longtime basketball coach Ron Botz.
Members of the school board held naming ceremonies earlier this week, prior to a board meeting at the school.
During his 29 years as head coach, the A-C Valley boys basketball team racked up 409 victories, three District 9 titles, and a PIAA runner-up finish in the state championship playoffs.
Botz and his family attended this week’s ceremony, along with many of his former players and assistant coaches.
