The Milwaukee Brewers scored six runs in the fifth inning of last night’s game with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and went on to a 7-3 victory at PNC Park. Pirates starting pitcher Andre Jackson was perfect through the first three innings, but then walked the bases loaded in the fourth inning, but allowed just one run. Jackson recorded just one out in the fifth inning before the Brewers chased him from the game.
The Pirate runs came from a Connor Joe three-run home run in the ninth inning.
Rookie pitcher Hunter Stratton made his MLB debut last night for the Pirates. He entered the game with two outs and the bases loaded in the eighth inning and recorded a strikeout to end the inning. He then pitched a perfect ninth inning.
The Bucs and Brewers complete their series today at 12:35pm. WISR will join the pre-game following the Noon News.
The Pirates are off tomorrow, then head to Atlanta for three games. They return home next Monday for a week-long seven-game home-stand against Washington and the New York Yankees.
