The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7-5 to open a 3-game series on the road Friday night.
Pirates took control of a back-and-forth game in the 7th inning with RBIs from Bryan Reynolds and Miguel Andujar to take a 6-5 lead. Relievers Ryan Borucki and and Carmen Mlodzinski pitched a scoreless 7th and 8th inning before David Bednar closed it out for his 37th save.
Ke’Bryan Hayes and Jared Triolo each had 2 hits including a home run. Endy Rodriguez and Henry Davis also homered in the game.
The Pirates play again tonight at 6:40 PM. WISR pre-game begins at 6:15 PM.
