Butler senior golfer Hunter Swidzinski won the Class 3A state championship at Penn State Tuesday after shooting an 8-under 64 to force a three-player playoff. He then won on the third hole of sudden death. Swidzinski made up a seven-shot deficit from the opening day Monday after a first-round of 1-over 73. He clinched the title with a 20-foot birdie putt on the third playoff hole to top reigning WPIAL champion Nick Turowski of Penn-Trafford and Wes Lorish of Plum, who had been the first-round leader after shooting a 66 Monday. Swidzinski is the first PIAA golf champion in Butler High School history
