Pirates third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes on Wednesday was named a finalist for the Rawlings Gold Glove Award. Hayes led all third basemen this season with 21 defensive runs saved, and led four of five other fielding statistics. Furthermore, Hayes was fourth in Defensive Runs Saved regardless of position. He stands to become the first Pirates third baseman to win the award.
The Houston Astros defeated the Texas Rangers 8-5 last night, handing the Rangers their first loss after seven straight wins to begin the post-season. Texas leads the American League Championship Series 2-1, with Game 4 tonight at 8:03pm.
The National League Championship Series resumes this evening in Arizona at 5:07pm. Philadelphia leads the series 2-0.
