The Knoch girls tennis team defeated Sewickley Academy 3-2 to win the Class 2A WPIAL championship Wednesday. The Knights took victories in two singles and a doubles match to claim the title.
The Seneca Valley girls golf team finished fifth overall in the Class 3A state championship tournament at Penn State. Peters township swept both the boys and girls championships. The Grove City boys finished fifth in the Class 2A tournament. Clarion finished fourth.
WPIAL Soccer Playoffs:
Boys Soccer:
–The Class 3A playoffs will begin Saturday. Mars will host Thomas Jefferson. North Catholic will travel to Franklin Regional at 1pm.
–Monday in Class 2A – Knoch will host Elizabeth Forward at 7pm.
–The Class 4A playoffs will begin Saturday, October 28th. Undefeated Seneca Valley (13-0-3) will host Norwin. Butler (13-2-3) will host Peters Township.
Girls Soccer:
–The Class 3A playoffs will begin Monday. Undefeated Mars (14-0) will host Laurel Highlands at 7pm.
–The Class 2A tournament begins Tuesday. Freeport (14-1-1) will host Beaver at 8pm. Knoch will travel to South Park at 7pm. North Catholic (13-2) will face Woodland Hills at Freedom high school at 8pm.
