After a mediocre NASCAR season with its current Mustang, Ford Performance announced it will use its top-of-the-line Dark Horse model in the Cup Series next year. The Dark Horse is considered the blue-ribbon model of the Mustang lineup. Ford’s have won eight Cup Series races this season.
The Cup Series will crown a champion this Sunday in Phoenix with its final race of the season. Four drivers are eligible to race for the title. Ryan Blaney drives a Ford for Penske Motorsports. He has won three races this season. Christopher Bell drives a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. He has two victories. Kyle Larson and William Byron drive Chevrolets for Hendrick Motorsports and have a combined 10 wins this season. Coverage begins Sunday at 2pm on WBUT.
