Thursday Night Football:
–Baltimore defeated AFC North Division rivals Cincinnati 34-20 last night. The host Ravens improved to 8-3 this season and completed a head-to-head sweep of the Bengals, who fell to 5-5. Cincinnati lost starting quarterback Joe Burrow in the second quarter to a wrist injury after he threw a touchdown pass to put the Bengals up 10-7.
The Ravens have likely lost All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews for the season with an ankle injury. Lamar Jackson threw for two touchdowns, linking up with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for 116 yards. Beckham left the game in the fourth quarter with a shoulder injury.
The Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Cleveland Browns Sunday. Kick-off is 1pm. WISR will join the pre-game following the Noon News.
Steelers special teams coach Danny Smith will need rotator cuff surgery after he was hit on the sidelines following the team’s game-ending interception against Green Bay last week. The 70-year old Central Catholic grad has been with the Steelers for more than a decade and will still coach this weekend.
The Browns will start rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson at quarterback with the loss of veteran Deshaun Watson to a shoulder injury.. The fifth-round draft pick from UCLA made an emergency start October 1st against Baltimore. He was intercepted three times and sacked four time in the Ravens 28-3 victory.
