The Mars Area School Board is looking for a resident to fill the rest of the term of a member who has announced plans to resign.
At their meeting Tuesday night, school board members heard from Nicole Thurner that she is planning a move out of the district so she will resign her board membership effective January 9th.
The board has 30 days from that point to fill the position but they will begin advertising for letters of interest now which are due to district administration by Wednesday, December 20th.
Board members will come up with questions to be asked in interviews at a special public meeting to be held January 3rd at 6 p.m. before a vote is taken at the January 9th meeting.
This term expires in December of 2025.
