The Pittsburgh Penguins won their second game in a row following a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens. The Pens came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the game in a shoot-out that took 12 rounds.
Jansen Harkins scored the game-winner. He doesn’t even have a regulation point for the Penguins after being claimed off waivers from Winnipeg in October. His last NHL goal was last December with the Jets. It was his first shoot-out attempt for his new club, ending the longest shoot-out in Penguins history.
The Pens went 2-for-3 on power plays in the game. Sidney Crosby scored two of the Penguins goals last night. Jake Guentzel the other Pens goal in regulation. Crosby, Kris Letang, Lars Eller and Harkins scored in the shoot-out.
Crosby now has 1,533 points in his career, tying Mark Recchi for 13th on the NHL’s all-time points list.
The Penguins visit Toronto Saturday night.
