Local gas prices have gone down slightly over the holiday weekend according to the weekly update from AAA.
In Butler, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded self-serve is $3.43. That’s down three cents compared to last week.
The national average however increased over the last week to $3.12—which is up six cents.
The price for a barrel of oil is now at $74, which is up due to attacks on tankers in the Red Sea. AAA also says demand for gas remains robust, which has help lead to the rise in prices nationally.
