Although the area may avoid a major winter storm this weekend, PennDOT is still reminding drivers about staying safe on the road.
Officials say there a couple of pieces of advice to keep in mind when heading out in wintry conditions.
- Remove all snow and ice from your car
- Turn on your headlights, especially if caught in a snow squall.
- Drive at a speed that suits the conditions.
- Do not drive distracted.
- Be patient and buckle up.
They also say when temperatures reach freezing levels, road that look wet may be icy.
