Ahead of this week’s March for Life, Congressman Mike Kelly is backing legislation that aims to protect federal funding to pregnancy centers.
The Ways and Means Committee advanced a law that would block a proposed federal rule that could prohibit states from giving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families funds to pregnancy centers.
“If we really are the country we say we are, if we are really the nation we say we are, and if we really believe what we say we believe, why would you ever take funding from these centers that help people in need,” Kelly said.
Kelly says the bill would allow mothers and their children to receive the care they need.
