Butler County Community College is expanding their food pantry into other campuses.
As part a $20,000 grant, BC3 will be purchasing refrigerator units to other branch campuses in Cranberry, Armstrong, and Lawrence Counties.
The program is known as the Pioneer Pantry and it was established in 2019 to help with food insecurity among BC3 students.
Last year, the pantry served over 800 students.
BC3 officials say they also work to break the stigma of food insecurity in order to make sure students have access to meals.
