There’s still time to sign up for an offering from an educational organization about making goat meat an option in the new year.
Penn State Extension is offering a home study course of six weekly lessons on raising meat goats for profit beginning February 7th.
Lessons focus on issues such as nutrition, health, marketing, and reproduction. Worksheet questions will help producers analyze goat meat operations. Lessons are available through email and the internet as well as conventional mail delivery.
The cost varies between $50 and $125 depending on the method. Those interested in the course can view details and sign up through the Penn State Extension website by Tuesday.
