A new grant will help with medical assisted treatment inside the Butler County Prison.
The county was approved for a $200,000 grant that will go to what is known as MAT care in the prison. The grant is for a two-year period.
Butler County Commissioners say providing the services is pricey. Over a year, the county spends around $500,000 on MAT.
Officials also say that MAT is never initiated at the prison, but is continued if an inmate is on treatment.
