After filing a lawsuit late last year for defamation, Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale was in court yesterday for preliminary objections.
Vanasdale is accusing Butler County District Attorney Rich Goldinger, Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo, and two other citizens for false accusations and defamation.
Vanasdale claims the defendants damaged her reputation by sharing false or misleading information about her on social media during the 2023 election.
The most prominent accusation is a 2019 civil complaint against Vanasdale that is public information in Allegheny County. Vanasdale says that the suit was never served “because it was filed by a fake person.”
Senior Judge Christopher J. St. John ultimately ruled that Vanasdale would need to refile her civil suit with more evidence.
