Last week Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis was in Pittsburgh seeking support for more funding for public transportation.
Executive Director of the Butler Transit John Paul says that according to one projection this budget would add about half a million dollars.
What would the transit authority do with that money? Run the buses more often.
“Right now the bus comes around once an hour. When you’re in a big city, depending on the time of day, the bus comes every 10 to 20 minutes. I would love to be able to provide a bus ride every 30 minutes in Butler,” Paul said.
Paul did say the transit is fully funded but this funding would increase service.
