The Pitt men’s basketball team defeated Wake Forest 81-69 in the quarterfinal round of the ACC tournament Thursday afternoon. Fresh off his ACC sixth-man award this week, Ishmael Leggett Pitt with 30 points. Blake Hinson added 20. The Panthers improved to 22-10 this season and will meet #1-seed North Carolina tonight in the semifinals at 7pm. The Tar Heels eliminated Florida State 92-67 Thursday. They are now 26-6 this season and ranked #4 overall.
The Duquesne men upset #24-ranked Dayton 65-57 in the Atlantic 10 tournament. The Dukes meet St. Bonaventure in the A-10 semifinals, a team they have beaten twice this season. It is the first tip to the Atlantic 10 semifinals for Duquesne since 2009. Tip-off is 2:30pm Saturday.
