Butler County Community College has announced who will take over as Interim president for the longest-serving president in school history.
By a unanimous vote of 15-0 the board of trusties appointed Megan Coval Interim President of BC3 effective May 16. Coval is taking over the position from Dr. Nick Neupauer who served as president for 17 years, the longest in school history.
Before being approved for interim president, Coval served as the executive director of the BC3 Education Foundation and helped raise $7.5 million in funding for the 25,000-square-foot Victor K. Phillips Nursing and Allied Health Building on BC3’s main campus.
Before being hired by BC3 in 2021 Coval was Vice President of policy and federal relations at the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administration in Washington D.C.
Coval graduated from Butler Senior High School and received her master’s degree in higher education administration from The Pennsylvania State University in 2006.
Board Chair Joseph Kubit said there is currently no end date for Coval interim tag as the board waits to see the impact of Governors Josh Shapiro’s “Blueprint for Higher Education.”
A decision about Coval’s current position will come at a later date.
