The Butler boys track and field team improved to 5-0 this season with a sweep of Pine-Richland and Shaler. The Golden Tornado outpointed Pine-Richland 101-49 and Shaler 132-18. Butler won 10 of the 11 running events and used 12 different runners to sweep the relay events. They also took three field events, including a first and second in the high jump.
On the track:
David Graef won both the 100 and 200 meters, Drew Griffith won the Mile, Drew Knight won the 800, Aaron Stebick won the 400, Owen Dressler taking home first in the 3200 meters, with Thaddeus Mago capturing the 110 high hurdles.
In the Field Events,
Orein McBride-Cager and Braylon Littlejohn both jumped 6’4” to go 1-2 in the high jump. Leland Anderson threw a PR to capture the Discus and Freshman Nico Baggetta tossed the Javelin 154 feet to take first in the Javelin.
The Golden Tornado host the Butler Invitational this Friday – with a record 90+ schools participating in the event which begins at 11am.
