A notable doctor and political activist in Allegheny County has died.
Dr. Cyril Wecht passed away Monday.
Dr. Wecht was a nationally known pathologist and earned multiple law degrees.
He served as the Allegheny County coroner, and would later serve as a county commissioner and the county’s Democratic Party chairman.
He also gained national notice for his public critiques of the Warren Commission, which said Lee Harvey Oswald was solely responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
Wecht was 93.
