The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is getting ready to tear out all remaining toll booths over the next couple of years.
The commission approved the $50 million plan that would get rid of the toll booths and replace them with overhead gantries.
The gantries are an electronic system that can charge drivers without having vehicles slow down through the toll booths.
The commission aims to have the gantries installed and ready in Western Pennsylvania by 2027.
