Butler City police were called to B’Nai Abraham Synagogue for a suspicious package did not contain dangerous materials.
The incident happened Tuesday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. when police say a man who was rambling and speaking incoherently dropped a package off at the Synagogue on North Main Street and left before police arrived.
The package was removed from the premises and a perimeter was established around the package. Pennsylvania State Police used technicians to determine the package did not have any dangerous materials.
The man who dropped the package off was eventually found and interviewed by police. The act by the man was determined not to be criminal and no charges are currently pending.
