Motorists are being alerted to a local road project that is expected to impact traffic later this week.
According to PennDOT officials, work on the Lions Road Bridge impacting Route 422 will take place Wednesday night at 11 p.m. until Thursday morning at 5 a.m.
Crews will be using cranes to install beams for the new bridge structure. Message boards along Route 422 will alert motorists about the work but drivers should use caution in the area. Inclement weather will push the work to the next day.
The Lions Road Bridge raising project will continue through the end of August with detours posted around the work area. This work is part of the larger $10 million Route 422 project in Butler, Franklin, and Connoquenessing Townships continuing through October 11th.
