Butler County is moving forward with developing a plan on how to handle future forestry projects at local properties.
Commissioners have been weighing doing a timber project at Alameda Park since the beginning of the year. But, after consulting with the DCNR, they are working on developing a plan for the long-term future.
Commissioners hope it will define a plan for different areas of the park, instead of just taking trees out at parks.
They also are expecting a plan to be put together in the next four months.
Forestry work won’t begin until next year according to officials, however they say there is no safety risk for park-goers at this time.
