An inmate briefly escaped police custody this afternoon in Downtown Butler.
It happened around 12:45 p.m. today near the city’s Island neighborhood.
According to Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe, a law enforcement agency was transporting the inmate to the District Magistrate’s office when he broke free.
Slupe says the man was quickly apprehended and is back in police custody.
Other details are not known at the moment.
